Travel south from Valparaíso for about an hour along the Pacific Ocean to the community of El Quisco. Here visit the former home of Chile’s most famous poet Pablo Neruda. Recognized as one of the greatest poets of the 20th century for his vast collections of poems, such as Twenty Love Poems and a Song of Despair, Neruda was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1971. In addition to his work as a poet, Neruda also served as a Chilean senator and diplomat supporting left-wing causes. Learn about his life and works at his home which has now been converted into a museum. Although not located an island, Neruda christened his house Isla Negra, which means Black Island, because of the dark outcropping of rocks rising out of the water that reminded him of an island. Full Day Casablanca Valley Wine Tour from Valparaíso
