Phinda Reserve lies in an area that consists of boulder outcrops on the foothills of the Lebombo mountains, acacia bushveld and woodlands, and dense reedbeds at the margins of the river. Seven distinct eco-systems have been identified within Phinda’s mountain range, including wetlands, sand forest and coastal plain. Apart from the 400 different species of birds, other animals commonly seen are elephant, giraffe, rhino, zebra, cheetah, hyaena, hippo, crocodile, wildebeest, impala, monkeys, leopard and lion. The Phinda Vlei Lodge has six thatched chalets or suites, each with an en-suite bathroom, dressing room, private plunge pool and deck that overlooks the vlei. The deck offers gorgeous views of grazing antelope, zebra and a variety of birdlife. The dining area overlooks the grassy vlei. Delicious Pan-African cuisine is served to you on the game-viewing decks, or in a dramatic bush setting near the lodge. Your stay is on a full board basis.
