Yangon is the erstwhile capital of Myanmar that still proudly lives on as the country’s commercial hub.

Half Day Visit to Shwedagon Pagoda
Discover the crown of Myanmar! After a leisurely afternoon, head to the stunning Shwedagon Zedi Daw, a sacred Buddhist pagoda that is considered Myanmar’s greatest treasure and most important landmark.  It is thought to be over 2,600 years old and there are relics of the past four Buddhas enshrined within it. Standing 99 meters (325 ft) tall on Singuttara Hill, west of Kandawgyi Lake, it dominates the city skyline. With its golden gilded pagoda and stupa and topped off with sparkling sapphires, diamonds, rubies and topaz, Shwedagon is best enjoyed at sunset.

Highlights of Loikaw
Loikaw is brimming with culture. On Wednesdays and Saturdays you can experience the colorful Demawso Market, where different ethnic groups come together in traditional outfits and sell their wares. Explore Sam Boon village, inhabited by the Padaung people who adorn copper neck rings. Venture to a weaving center for an insight into making the native Kayar dresses. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Discover the Shwe Let War Pagoda (Golden Palm Pagoda) with its scenic views across the valley, and the animist worship place of Tha Khon Tai, tucked amidst banyan trees. Thiri Mingalarpon monastery, the former palace of the Shan feudal chief is also well worth a visit as are, of course, the Thiri Mingala (Taungkwe) Pagodas.

Half Day Inle Lake Boat Ride (from Pekun)
Scenic views and cultural encounters! On your way from Loikaw to Pekun, stop at Moe Byae to see authentic village life and Padaung women who are famous for their brass neck jewellery. At Pekun, a boat will take you on a picturesque 5.30 hour ride to Inle Lake, while you enjoy the beautiful scenery and verdant surroundings along the Bilu Creek. About 1.30 hours into the ride, stop at Thakhauk, which is known for its ancient monuments, insights into the Shan, Pa O and Intha races, and Lone Kan market. After lunch, visit pot-making and lotus-weaving villages before proceeding to Inle Lake.

Inle Lake is a stunning and calm freshwater lake that lies 900 meters above sea level.

Highlights of Inle Lake
Cruise out to the largest freshwater lake in Myanmar by boat or canoe. Marvel at the exquisite floating gardens and watch fishermen haul in the day’s catch at quaint fishing villages located on beautiful Inle Lake. Visit the imposing Phaung Daw U Pagoda to see the famous five gold-plated Buddha statues. Your tour of the lake also includes excursions to colorful traditional markets and workshops where you will find beautiful local handicrafts, and to villages where you can observe the daily life on the lake. Kindly note that the boats stop running at 5pm.

Half Day Trip to Indein Village
Venture to the unique village of Indein, located on the western bank of Inle Lake. Enter this small and charming destination through a narrow winding creek framed by dense jungle. Once there, you can explore a cluster of incredibly atmospheric pagoda ruins that overlook the lake, including Nyaung Ohak, which houses crumbling stupas with ornate stucco carvings, and Shwe Inn Thein Pagoda, a complex of 1054 weather-worn temples. The temples resemble the Khmer style and date back to the 17th and 18th century Shan period. Witness an enshrined Buddha image within a whitewashed stupa on a hill summit. Your rural experience is complete with scenes of farmers ploughing paddy fields with the aid of water buffaloes. To respect local customs, please dress conservatively. Kindly note that footwear is not permitted within the main temple.

Hsipaw is a town in Shan State, located on the banks of Dokthawaddy River and northeast of Mandalay.

Half Day Boat Ride & Ramble of Hsipaw
Enjoy a rural ramble! After a heart breakfast, embark on a short walk with your guide to reach the jetty on the banks of the Dokthawady River. A long-tail boat waits here to take you upstream, past dense forests, fruit plantations and scenic valleys set before stunning mountains. Disembark and walk about 45 minutes uphill through pineapple, papaya and orange orchards to visit an isolated 150-year-old Shan monastery. On the way back, adventure enthusiasts can indulge in a refreshing swim at a site where two rivers meet. Discover rural life at a local Shan village and visit a typical train station on the narrow gauge railway from Mandalay to Lashio, before you return to Hsipaw for a leisurely lunch. Kindly note that the walking time is about two hours, so a moderate level of fitness is required.

Half Day Walking Tour of Shan Villages
Post breakfast, your guide will meet you at your hotel for on an easy paced walk to farming villages and their gardens. The walk covers a variety of rural scenery including rice paddies, maize fields, tobacco and other seasonal crops amid rolling wooded countryside. Enjoy the opportunity to observe firsthand the traditional lifestyle of Shan Villages – see women weave baskets, make fans and roll cheroots (cigars cut squarely at both ends – open, untapered). After about four hours of walking, you will return back to Hsipaw in time for lunch.

Observe the fascinating, traditional culture of the Burmese and Shan ethnic peoples when you explore the Shan villages of Yechan O and Ye Nge. There are wonderful local herbal medicine stalls to explore at the Peik Chin Myaung Caves, and you can venture to the rolling manmade Pwe Kauk Waterfall, which was known as the Hampshire Falls during British colonial rule. If you wish to travel in traditional style, a horse-drawn carriage ride awaits.

Day Trip to Amarapura, Sagaing and Ava
Explore the royal cities of Amarapura, Sagaing and Ava on this fabulous day excursion from Mandalay. Within Amarapura, known as the City of Immortality, you can immerse yourself in Buddhist culture alongside the monks of Mahagandhayon monastery. In Sagaing, you’ll get a deeper sense of daily spiritual life with visits to more Buddhist monasteries. Enjoy dusk back in Amarapura where you can take a picturesque walk along the U Bein Bridge, the world’s longest teakwood bridge. Day Trip to Mount Popa
Explore the old spirits of Myanmar on a unique full day trip to Mount Popa, which is located 60 kms from Bagan. Trek up this extinct volcano to see the crater, which is over a mile in diameter. Housing Buddhist temples and pagodas, Mount Popa is home to animist beliefs, and is a place where Buddhist hermits once lived. Four of the 37 most powerful Burmese Nats (spirits) are thought to reside in Mount Popa and it continues to be a place of pilgrimage, particularly during the Burmese New Year of Thingyan in April, and the full moon festival seasons of Nayon (May/June) and Nadaw (November/December). If you wish to respect the supreme beings and local custom, do not wear the colors of black, green or red, or bring meat to the mountain! Kindly note that this activity requires a moderate level of physical fitness.

Highlights of Bagan
Visit the largest temple complex in Southeast Asia! Bagan is an architectural delight with its numerous pagodas and beautiful temples, including the famous Buddhist Ananda Temple that was built in 1105 AD. Stroll through the unique and colorful Nyaung U market and visit the imposing Shwezigon Pagoda surrounded by numerous shrines. Witness the stunning wall paintings inside the Kupyaukyi Temple and discover an astounding collection of artifacts inside the Bagan Museum.
