Explore Hanoi’s colonial buildings, tree-lined boulevards and scenic lakes. Start at the historic Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum housing his preserved body; behind is his House with a view of a lotus pond. Visit the lotus-shaped One Pillar Pagoda; the Temple of Literature for an overview on Hanoian culture and ancient architecture; the Museum of Ethnology offering insights into Vietnam’s 54 ethnic minority groups. Enjoy a 1hr cyclo ride through Hanoi’s Old Quarter. End at the Water Puppet Theatre.

Hanoi to Halong Bay – Bai Tu Long Bay Drive through the picturesque paddy fields of Red River Delta, to reach Halong. En route, stop in Hai Duong province and enjoy refreshments. At the Tuan Chau Wharf, take a photo break aboard the Glory Legend Private Lounge before you are transferred to the boat where you will be briefed as you enjoy your welcome drink. Lunch is served en route to Vung Vieng through the magnificent Halong Bay – Bai Tu Long Bay, where famous sites like Perfume Rock, Fighting Cock, Lonely Rock and Saddle Rock await. Friendly local people at the village will help you row your boat through various sites and islands where you can enjoy swimming and kayaking. Enjoy a relaxing evening back on the boat or some squid fishing, and indulge in a pre-booked massage or a cooking class on the sundeck, before sampling an authentic Vietnamese dinner. Day 2: Halong Bay to Hanoi Warm beverages and pastries are served early and followed by a Tai Chi lesson on the boat. Afterwards, you can disembark and climb the 100 steps to reach the beautiful Sung Sot Caves. After your expedition, enjoy a leisurely brunch aboard the Halong Legend as you cruise back to Tuan Chau Wharf. Once you disembark, you can visit a traditional pottery workshop on your way back to Hanoi.

Enjoy a 1N Jasmine Junk cruise through Halong Bay. Take a scenic drive 4hr/165kms from Hanoi; transfer by tender to the Junk; check-in; enjoy a seafood lunch; cruise past limestone islands and beaches. By tender, visit Tien Ong Cave to see stalactites and stalagmites; take a bamboo boat ride to Cua Van Fishing Village – Halong’s biggest and oldest floating fishing village. On board, enjoy a Vietnamese culinary demo; moor overnight; enjoy a massage/sundowner; see a pre-dinner presentation. Early next morning, enjoy Tai Chi on the sundeck; transfer to a white sandy beach with crystal clear water. Cruise slowly back to Halong via picturesque Ti Top Island, Tam Cung Cave and Poem Mountain; brunch is on aboard before arrival at about 1100hrs; transfer to Royal Park Pier; drive back to Hanoi.

The ancient Imperial Capital of Hué, lies at the mouth of the Perfume River and is considered the fulcrum of Vietnam’s two rice baskets – the Red River Delta and the Mekong River Delta.

Embark on a 10min cyclo ride to see the Imperial past of Nguyen Lords – tombs, pagodas and the Imperial Citadel’s remains (UNESCO site). Here, enter via the lofty main gate; admire magnificent architecture and gardens, and learn of Ancient Hue’s events and intrigue. Some well preserved sections remain intact inspite of heavy bombing, while others have been restored. Drive down to visit Hue’s best-preserved religious monument, the compelling Thien Mu Pagoda, standing on the riverbank with a 7-storey tower. Take a 30min drive out to the elaborate Khai Dinh Royal Tomb, showcasing east-west design and architectural elements. Visit the serene Tu Duc Royal Tomb built on fen-shui principles, harmonizing with its natural environs. En route back to your hotel, perhaps halt at an incense stick making house.
