Though often mistaken as desolate, the vast Patagonian steppe is full of unique wildlife like guanacos, hares and condors. Its hills and plateaus are painted a thousand subtle hues and stretch on infinitely across the horizon. On this half day tour explore the Estancia 25 de Mayo by 4×4 vehicles. Along the way learn about the history of El Calafate and the ranch culture of the region. With luck you will see the horses and cattle raised on the estancia as well as the wildlife that call Patagonia home. Search for marine fossils formed millions of years ago and take a short walk to view the guanacos and other wildlife up close. End the tour with a hearty meal at one of the original houses on the ranch.
