Rimba Orangutan Eco Lodge, tucked inside the Tanjung Puting National Park in Central Kalimantan, will offer you a simple close-to-nature experience. The jungle lodge can only be reached by boat from the port of Kumai. The eco lodge runs almost entirely on solar power generated from its in-house solar energy plant. It is built around a series of five adjoining, elevated pavilions. Each pavilion contains three rooms with their own covered verandah and boardwalk right up to the river’s edge. There are also 20 more rooms in the lodge and all 35 rooms have air conditioning, fans and running hot water. Perched by the Sekonyer River, with resident Macaque monkeys and bird song, your nature experience begins right at your hotel. Surrender yourself to your natural surroundings, and rediscover simple pleasures like watching for birds and butterflies and taking boat rides.
