Coral Coast

2 Nights

Coral Coast is the stunning coastline that stretches between the towns of Sigatoka and Suva on the Viti Levu island. A few minutes’ drive south of Nadi Town, the Coral Coast attracts travelers the year round with its spectacular natural beauty.

Included Activities

Group Tour: Sigatoka River Safari
This half-day river safari on custom-built safari jet boats offers a uniquely Fijian adventure The Sigatoka River is the longest river on Viti Levu, running from the hills of the Navosa Province down to the Coral Coast. Enjoy the rich bird life as you learn about the river’s place in Fijian life. Up until the late 1950s, the Sigatoka was the only means of transport from the coast to the interior. Today, it remains a lifeline for the people living along its shores, providing them with fresh water mussels, fish and prawns, as well as water for drinking and agriculture. Engage with the Fijian people and get a glimpse into how life used to be in the villages that dot the Sigatoka’s banks. The village also benefits from your visit as part of the ticket price goes directly to the village to help them fund various projects.

Group Tour: Off-Road Cave Safari
This off-road safari promises a half-day of adventure in an all terrain vehicle for those who wish to take the road less traveled. Cross the mighty Sigatoka River, the longest river in Fiji, and then head inland to experience more of the island’s beautiful interiors. A 35-minute drive takes you to the home of the bete, or high priest, whose permission is required to enter the Naihehe Cave, whose name translates to ‘a place to get lost.’ The cave was home to the Sautabu people, a cannibal tribe that used it as a fortress. Explore the cave system that still contains a cannibal oven, a ritual platform and the sacred priest chamber as you learn about its history. The cave also possesses natural features such as flowstones, stalactites and stalagmites and underground springs. You will find Christian influences within the cave as well, which date back to Fiji’s colonial period.
