Experience the many attractions of St. Petersburg on this tour. St Petersburg was the capital of imperial Russia and retains its grandeur to this day, filled as it is with cathedrals and museums, palaces and gardens. Drive along the Square of Arts, a public square in the center of the city. Travel past the Russian Museum and Church of the Saviour on Spilled Blood, now a secular museum, along Nevsky Prospect, the city’s high street, to the Winter Palace on Palace Square. View the Palace Embankment, which contains the Hermitage Museum and the Peter and Paul Fortress, the original fortress of St Petersburg built by Peter the Great. Spot the Menshikov Palace, Decembrists Square with its bronze horseman and Isaac’s Square with St. Isaac’s Cathedral. If time permits, you can visit Smolny Cathedral. Experience the the culture, history and artistic vibe of St. Petersburg! Explore the splendid Hermitage Museum, which houses a grand collection of art spanning many countries and centuries. See the elegant Winter Palace, the former residence of the tsars, and walk through its massive Palace Square which has the Alexander Column standing in the center. You can also head to Vasilyevsky Island just across the river, home to beautiful landmarks and parks. Visit the Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, where Emperor Alexander II was assassinated, before you stop for lunch at one of the lively Nevsky Avenue restaurants. Afterwards, visit the Peter and Paul Fortress, where you can learn about the founding of the city, the golden-spired St. Isaac’s Cathedral and the iconic Mariinsky Theater with its Neo-Byzantine design elements.
