Visit the river confluence, the birthplace of this frenetic Asian metropolis. Witness the imposing Sultan Abdul Samad Building that was built as the secretariat of the colonial government in the late 19th century. Its Indo-Saracenic style influenced much of the city’s architecture during the period. The national aspirations of modern Malaysia are visible at Independence Square, and the Kuala Lumpur City Gallery with its large-scale model of the city. Your half day city tour ends with an exploration of the giant limestone Batu Caves, which is a holy Hindu shrine north of the city.
