Day Trip To Paradise Cave In Quang Binh
Depart Hue early to embark on the four hour drive to Quang Binh, where you can stop at Ben Hai River and Hien Luong bridge. Now the demilitarized zone of the Vietnam War, it previously divided north and south Vietnam. Continue to the remarkable Paradise Cave. Only discovered in 2005, it is said to be largest and most impressive in the Phong Nha Ke Bang area. Its primitive interior features impressive stalagmites and stalactites. After the return drive, you will arrive back in Hue in the early evening.

Day Trip To Ban Phadaeng Village
Few books are found in Laos..rarely reaching rural villages and children who most need them. ‘Big Brother Mouse’ is a locally run project committed to changing this by publishing books that help make it fun and easy to learn/read. They then rely on visitors to help distribute them. Start by visiting the Big Brother Mouse shop to select books for today’s village visit. Then meet our village co-ordinator; together with your guide head north out of the town on a 1.5hr drive to the remote village of Ban Phadaeng, well off the tourist trail. Here, visit the local school..present your books, meet the children, even participate in a short class if you wish. Time permitting, you can partake in some later morning fishing in the local river..catching what will form lunch..prepared by a local family and eaten together. Post lunch, explore the village..a mix of Lao and Hmong ethnic minority. Mid afternoon, return to the family house to witness a special Baci Ceremony to wish you luck on your journey ahead. Return back, stopping en route at an interesting Khmu village. Arrive in Luang Prabang around 4pm.

Elephant Trails In Chiang Mai
Spend a day with gentle giants in Chiang Mai. A progressive elephant camp, Patara Elephant Camp is paving the way for wildlife conservation and encourages tourists to mingle with the pachyderms in an ethical and meaningful manner. Begin your tour by being trained in the ways of a mahout (elephant handler). Once you have donned the traditional garb of a mahout, you can approach elephants and observe their behaviour and mood. Once you have gained an elephant’s trust, you will be able to feed and bathe the animals and eventually acquire the skills to be able to ride it. Afterwards, take an hour long ride on the elephant in bareback style to ensure that the animals are not hurt. Travel through lush green paddies until you reach a sparkling waterfall, and then back to the farm. Well known for its bustling local weekly market and its ancient cluster of Buddhist stupas, enjoy your little day trip to a Burmese lakeside village. Soak in the delightfully laidback rural atmosphere of Indein Village, which is hemmed in by tropical jungles and hillocks that house Shwe Indein, a complex of medieval Buddhist pagodas. Walk up to the old complex to admire the intricate architecture, and to enjoy a panoramic view of the village and the lake beneath the hills. Interact with the villagers to learn more about the Pao hill community. Take a leisurely stroll through Indein, stop by the local village school and discover a slice of their everyday lives.
