Set off on an adventurous cycling tour of wineries in the picturesque Havelock North and Cape Coast regions. Accompany your private guide along a scenic trail that winds through beautiful landscapes, taking you past some of the region’s popular wineries. Begin your exploration of wineries with a visit to Black Barn Vineyards, known for its award winning wines and Te Mata Estate, which is home to the oldest winery building in the country. Follow the limestone cycle trail along the calmly flowing Tukituki River for about 7.5 miles (12 km) to reach the coastal towns of Haumoana and Te Awanga. Savor the splendid vistas before making your way to Elephant Hill, the leading winery restaurant in the region. Buy yourself some lunch and linger a bit before heading over to Clearview Estate. Enjoy one last tasting session before you wind up your cycling tour and transfer back to your hotel. Beginning at the rugged South Coast – scarred by earthquakes over the years, this cliff meets ocean scenery is one of the most picturesque in the country! From your vantage, see the entrance to the harbor flanked by towering mountain ranges on South Island in the distance. Quaint little houses cling to these rocky cliffs by the side of motorways winding their way around the island. A little distance, take a cable car ride up the steep Mount Victoria. At the summit, panoramic views of the island, stark landscapes, ocean and distant shores await, apart from a birds eye view of the harbor below. Continue on to the most famous buildings in the vicinity, including the historic Parliament building that sits on a vast tract of lush green lawn. Also explore the Old St. Paul’s cathedral; constructed from timber, it’s a vibrant gathering space for the local community.
