Enjoy a wonderful culinary-inspired tour of Lima where you will learn of the burgeoning Peruvian culinary scene and popular art. Test your senses by tasting the products in a local market, visit Chinatown (the largest in South America!) to sample some Peruvian-Chinese fusion food and tour the Historic Centre of Lima observing its important monuments. As a special treat, you will try the exquisite Peruvian Creole dishes of a recognized and awarded local chef. You will also visit a local restaurant where you will be able to go in the kitchen to partake in the making of ceviche with an awarded chef, a great gastronomic experience! Finally walk around the streets of charming Barranco neighborhood, which is described in the book ‘La Ciudad y Los Perros’ by famed Peruvian author Mario Vargas Llosa, and visit a private collection of the best Peruvian handicrafts. One of the highlights of the Peruvian capital is the award-winning restaurant ” Astrid y Gaston ” headed by top local chef Gaston Acurio. Experience a culinary journey through the various regions of Peru , in the relaxed atmosphere of ” La Barra ” , which is referred to as a “modern tavern ” by the chef , a place where every day anew the flavors of Peru are celebrated . Visit to Chincheros Town, Maras Salt Mines and Moray Ruins
On this full-day privately guided excursion you will visit the beautiful colonial town of Chincheros as well as the spectacular Incan sites of Maras and Moray. Start your morning at the fascinating Maras Salt mines which feature more than 100 small pools fed by a salt-water mountain spring that is interconnected by channels.  It still remains in use today by the community and represents an important income for numerous families in the area.  In the afternoon, you will head along a dirt road towards another typical Andean village called Moray; famed for being an Inca agricultural experimental center.  Both these ancient sites and your visit to Chincheros, will take your breath away and leave you fascinated by the mysteries of the Incan civilization. MIL Gastronomic Lab
Located in the high Andes with a privileged overview of Moray – an unusual Inca site of several terraced circular depressions that were likely used as an agricultural laboratory -, MIL’s architecture has been designed to merge with local nature and culture. This new project is in collaboration with Mater initiative – a biological and cultural research center that supports the famous Central Restaurant in Lima, voted the world’s 5th best restaurant. Just like our Inca ancestors and their agricultural research at Moray, the project will investigate and cultivate local ingredients, and the stories behind them, for integration into the MIL menu which promises dishes inspired by ancestral cuisine with the ingenious touch that characterizes this renowned chef.
