One hundred years after the infamous ship sank in the North Atlantics icy waters, the Titanic Belfast visitor experience center was opened. The museum is in an enormous building at the Belfast dock on the River Lagan, which opens into the North Channel and connects Belfast to the Irish Sea. The location was chosen because it is where the ship was built. The Titanic Belfast building is a 126-foot-high silver structure shaped like four gigantic, angular hulls and covered in shimmering aluminum panels. Using an audio guide, you can spend hours touring the museums 118,403-square-foot exhibition spaces, including mock-ups of cabins, stories of passengers and crew, interactive galleries, and finally, the exhibit about the ships tragic end. Experience the simulated Shipyard Ride as a six-seater wagon takes you through the building of the Titanic. You will hear rivets being hammered into the frame and feel the heat from smelted iron. Stand on a gantry and watch workers build the massive passenger liner and listen to fascinating commentary on the history and shipbuilding heritage of Belfast. enchantingtravels.com/belfastENCHANTING TRAVELS\x1a23'
