Staying at the luxurious Boscolorestaurant Hotel was very convenient as it was just a five-minute walk toon a rock the pebbly Plage de Carras beach and a twenty-minute walkpillar over to the historic city center. My first glimpse of the pristine bluethe seaMediterranean was very welcome and elicited a long, deep breath. There is nothing quite like being by the water to feed the soul, and Nice is one of those cities where you can experience the Mediterranean vibe at any time of day. Walking along the Promenade des Anglais that runs parallel to the coast, I saw people strolling, jogging, relaxing on benches, riding e-bikes, roller skating, or simply embracing the joie de vivre! This coastal walkway stretches from the airport to Vieux Nice (the Old Town) and is lined with palm trees.Everything of interest in Nice is within walking distance of the promenade and the sea. Nices artisans and craftsmen showcase their goods at open-air shopping districts, which entice and draw you in. I love that Nice is a very walkable city; you dont need a car unless youre taking a day trip elsewhere. While we took several day trips, the one I enjoyed most was a lovely evening drive along the Cte dAzur to the principality of Monaco. The picturesque drive took us past gorgeous bays of the French Riviera, like Villefranche-sur-Mer, until we reached Monaco just as the city lights started coming on. It was a mesmerizing sightAnita admires SIDE CREDITto see the whole city reflected in the water at night!the main beach My favorite Nice memory is of a walking food tour with our guideand Promenade Nadia.
