Ronda, a town in the Malaga province, is the oldest and largest of the white hill towns of Andalusia, Spain. This pretty town is built atop a deep ravine, El Tajo, spanned by an impressive 18th Century bridge, the Puente Nuevo. On the south side of the bridge is the Moorish quarter La Ciudad, with its narrow streets, mosques, and palaces. On the north side of the gorge, you’ll find the modern Mercadillo quarter, perched atop steep cliffs, with parks and promenades overlooking the surrounding mountains. Tour the Arab Baths, the country’s best-preserved Moorish baths. Visit the bullring where the Romero family established modern bullfighting.
