Explore the pulsating Argentine capital on this tour of the city’s iconic destinations. Set off from your hotel in the company of your guide, enjoying a leisurely tour of Buenos Aires. Visit the chic French residential neighborhood of Recoleta, teeming with classy art galleries and cultural centers. If you’re lucky, you could even catch an exhibition or two while visiting the district. Also visit the Recoleta Cemetery, to find the graves of notable people, including Eva Perón. El Calafate

From being a simple village where time seemed to stand still, El Calafate has grown into a modern city, frequented just as much by the Argentineans themselves as by foreign tourists. While here, explore the Perito Moreno glacier and the ‘massif’ surrounding it from close quarters with trained and experienced personnel, and marvel at the sight of ice floes breaking off from the glacier and floating past you.

Tantalize your taste buds with an Argentinian asado, or barbecue. At the scheduled time, you will be driven to the home in El Calafate where the asado will take place. Once you reach, your host will welcome you and prepare your meal. Learn about the different grilling methods as you watch them cook. Traditional local meats and vegetables will be made on the ‘parrilla’, or Argentinian grill, or it might be made ‘al disco’, which is fried and then stewed. Another method is ‘a las brasas’ that uses red hot embers. Once the food is ready, sit around the fire with your host and fellow guests, and tuck into a delicious feast. Enjoy wine or another beverage of your choice with your meal. Make sure to leave some room for dessert. Personalized Tour of Perito Moreno Glacier

Get acquainted with Argentina’s majestic Perito Moreno Glacier on this full day adventure. Your private guide and chauffeur will pick you up from your hotel in the morning. Set out along the southern shore of Lake Argentino to reach Los Glaciares National Park. Once you are inside the park, stop at a panoramic viewpoint to admire the Andes Mountains, the alpine forests, and the Rico arm of the lake. You can also catch your first glimpse of the Perito Moreno Glacier from here. Then proceed to the 4,000 meters of balconies and walkways set at different levels to enjoy various views of the glacier. Your guide will tell you all about this imposing natural phenomenon and the surrounding ecosystem. Spend some time watching and contemplating this massive block of ice and learning how it behaves before returning to your hotel the way you came. Patagonia Steppe Exploration

Though often mistaken as desolate, the vast Patagonian steppe has a unique wildlife like guanacos, hares and condors. Its hills and plateaus are painted a thousand subtle hues and stretch on infinitely across the horizon. On this half day tour, explore the Estancia 25 de Mayo by 4×4 vehicles. Along the way learn about the history of El Calafate and the ranch culture of the region. With luck you will see the horses and cattle raised on the estancia as well as the wildlife that call Patagonia home. Search for marine fossils formed millions of years ago and take a short walk to spot guanacos and other wildlife up close. End the tour with a hearty meal at one of the original houses on the ranch. Our Enchanting Travels trip to Argentina and Uruguay was simply lovely. The itinerary was put together cooperatively, catering to our limited time and desired stops. The transfers were flawless. The drivers were superior, in our case, not only driving safely, but answering so many questions. The guides were excellent, which is perhaps to be expected since they have to study for 3 or 4 years in order to earn tour guide status. Accommodations were comfortable and clean. Delicious breakfasts were included at all hotels. It was so nice to have a local contact to assist us. In one instance, we lost a wallet, and our contact helped us track down where we had left it and arranged for it to be returned. We wanted to see where an ancestor was buried in the British Cemetery in Buenos Aires, and Enchanting Travels located the burial plot and wove that stop into our tour.
