Private Great Zimbabwe Tour

The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Great Zimbabwe is one of the best preserved stone cities in sub-Saharan Africa! Historians believe that the first structures in this ruined city were erected around AD 1100, and added to up until the 15th century for religious and political reasons. Built as a tribute to a long succession of rulers, the city was situated at a key trading position which lead to great wealth. The city was the capital of Zimbabwe in the Late Iron Age and home to the Queen of Sheba, according to legend. At its peak, it was thought to have housed 18,000 people!
