Puebla, with its magnificent cathedral, lively ornamental tree-lined square, and the world’s largest pyramid, is an elegant city steeped in history, culture, and religion! A treasure trove of architecture, prominent in the baroque gilded stuccos at Capilla del Rosario in Santo Domingo church, and in the rows of well-preserved colonial buildings, the city will strike a chord with art and history enthusiasts. It is home to Biblioteca Palafoxiana – considered Americas’ oldest public library, the contemporary style International Baroque Museum, and the historic Fort Guadalupe. Architecture aside, Puebla also has a vibrant and evolving art and nightlife scene – of which the artist quarter dotted with street artists and studios, and the expansive local market showcasing the traditional hand painted Talavera, are fine examples.
