Private Aswan tour
Aswan, originally called Sunn by the ancient Egyptians, is a laidback market and tourist city located on the east bank of the Nile. Here the river flows leisurely and the pace of life slows down to match it. Aswan historically served as the southern gateway to Egypt and is home to a number of significant archaeological sites, including five UNESCO World Heritage sites. They are the island of Elephantine, the Egyptian granite stone quarries with the Unfinished Obelisk, the tombs of Qubbet el-Hawa, the Coptic Monastery of St. Simeon and the Fatimid Cemetery. The Nubian Museum is worth a visit to see the Nubian artifacts that were saved before the Aswan Dam flooded the area.
