Ishasha Wilderness Camp is an exclusive tented camp located in the southern Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park directly on the Ntungwe River.
Mweya sits on top of a hill in the Queen Elizabeth National Park (QENP) in the West of Uganda overlooking Lake Edward at the point the Kazinga channel exits the lake. With the Rwenzori Mountains to the north and the border with the Congo across the lake to the west, it is a stunning setting. The national park close to the lodge has open savannah dotted with acacia and euphorbia, making game spotting relatively easy particularly on the network of tracks to the north of the main east-west road through the park. In addition to large numbers of elephant and buffalo, there are many antelope including Ugandan kob, defassa waterbuck and bushbuck. Predators such as lion and leopard are spotted regularly and a total of twenty different predators are found in the park. The camp’s accommodation is terraced rooms, with en-suite facilities. There is a main building with bar, restaurant and lounge as well as a large swimming pool and surrounding sun deck. The rooms, the main area and the pool all overlook sections of the lake or channel.
