Borealis Basecamp is situated on a quiet ridgeline in Alaska, surrounded by 100 acres of pristine boreal forest. It is roughly 25 miles north of Fairbanks. When you book a three night stay here, make sure to sign up for the dog sledding tour as well as the White Mountains snowmachining tour. Meet Dave Turner, your musher, and his team of dogs. Climb aboard your sled and enjoy a 30-minute ride along a section of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. Along the way your guide will tell you about life on the trail. The White Mountains snowmachine experience will take you into Alaska backcountry for four to six hours. Meet your guide in the morning. Learn the basics of riding a snowmachine and then head north along the Trans-Alaska Pipeline until you reach the start of the White Mountains recreation area. Stop here to have a snack and use the facilities before continuing on to Wickersham Dome, an incredible lookout point.
