Chon Kemin is a picturesque region located about 90 miles east of Bishkek in Kyrgyzstan. It lies between the two branches of the Tian Shan mountains that split the country in two and encompasses a gorge, a valley, and the Chon Kemin River. The gorge extends for approximately 90 miles and is considered to be the longest gorge in the country. The river runs through the valley and features seven lakes. This river is a popular choice for rafting because it is relatively slow moving. Horseback riding, hiking and fishing are other popular pastimes in the valley.
