What Makes It Special
Perched 340 meters above sea level on the slopes of Utsuvaara fell, Levi Igloos places guests directly beneath the Arctic sky. Its glass-roofed accommodations are designed around one extraordinary idea: the Northern Lights can be enjoyed from the comfort of your bed, with panoramic views stretching across the darkened fells and valley below.
Details
Levi Igloos sits high above Finnish Lapland, approximately 6 miles from Levi village. The elevated setting creates an uninterrupted outlook across the surrounding Arctic landscape. The property’s Northern Lights season runs from late August to early April, encompassing the colorful autumn landscape as well as the deep darkness of winter.
Accommodations include 27 glass igloos, alongside the Northern Lights House, and are designed to make the most of the surrounding landscape. Motorized beds allow you to adjust your position for comfortable viewing through the glass roof, while a Northern Lights alert system can notify guests when the aurora appears. Private outdoor spaces with hot tubs are also available.
Restaurant Utsu is the property’s culinary highlight. Set beneath a glass roof, it combines panoramic fell views with refined Nordic cuisine built around seasonal Arctic ingredients and influences from beyond the region. Seasonal multi-course dinner menus form the centerpiece, while table-served lunch is offered during the winter high season.
Beyond the glass roofs, the property offers private sauna sessions and outdoor Jacuzzi experiences. When you stay here, the setting itself remains the defining attraction: elevated above Levi, surrounded by fell landscapes and far from the village lights, it makes the Arctic sky the centerpiece of the stay.
