This village sits in the inner reaches of Geirangerfjord in western Norway, in one of the most geologically dramatic landscapes in Scandinavia. The fjord itself, a UNESCO World Heritage site, cuts deep between vertical mountain walls that rise hundreds of meters. The walls are covered with waterfalls that have carved the same paths for thousands of years. The Seven Sisters cascade in seven distinct threads across the cliff face directly opposite the Suitor, a single fall that local legend says is a rejected suitor raising his bottle in response. Above the waterline, abandoned cliffside farms like Skageflå cling to ledges and are only reachable on foot. The Dalsnibba Skywalk and Flydalsjuvet viewpoint each allow you to take in the fjord from a different elevation.
