What Makes It Special
A former stock exchange building, dating to 1862, gives Bergen Børs Hotel a remarkable sense of place. Historic architecture, tailored interiors and contemporary Scandinavian design come together in a setting that feels elegant without being overly formal.

Details
Bergen Børs Hotel occupies Bergen’s historic stock exchange building in the heart of the city, overlooking Vågsallmenningen and just steps from the harbor, Fish Market and Bryggen. The building was designed by architect Franz Wilhelm Schiertz and served as Bergen’s stock exchange for more than a century, making its architectural character inseparable from the city’s commercial history.

Inside, the accommodations balance historic details with a contemporary Scandinavian aesthetic. Original architectural features are complemented by custom woodwork, rich fabrics and carefully selected furnishings, creating spaces that feel distinctive and residential.

Dining is a central part of the experience. The hotel’s restaurant, Bare, occupies the building’s former trading hall and focuses on modern Norwegian cuisine built around seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. The hotel’s Amber Sky Bar, on the upper floor, has a more relaxed atmosphere, offering cocktails and views across Bergen’s rooftops.

The hotel’s central location makes it easy to explore Bergen on foot. With its blend of history, design, gastronomy and location, Bergen Børs feels deeply connected to the city it occupies.
