Queen Elizabeth South forms the southern region of the famous Queen Elizabeth National Park. Encompassing a variety of landscapes ranging from savannah to lush forests to wetlands and bush land, the park is home to 96 species of mammals including hippos, lions, leopards, elephants, and chimps.

Budongo Forest is a moist, semi-deciduous tropical rainforest located at the top of the Albertine Rift.

Observe gorillas! Bwindi is home to around 340 highly endangered mountain gorillas, more than half of the world’s population.

A bird lover’s haven! Entebbe, the former capital of Uganda during the British colonisation, hosts 50,000 people and is situated on the shores of Lake Victoria, the second largest freshwater lake of the world.

For the adventurous, Jinja is the East African counterpart to more southerly adrenaline capitals, such as Victoria Falls and Cape Town.

The lush tropical rainforest of Kibale National Park has one of the highest diversity and density of primates in Africa, totalling 13 species including more than 1,000 chimpanzees and so is an ideal location for chimpanzee trekking.

Visit Uganda’s loneliest national park! In the far northeast, the remote, wild and little-visited Kidepo Valley National Park provides refuge to a long list of dry-country species not found anywhere else in Uganda.

Lake Albert is the northernmost lake in the Great Rift Valley and located on the border between Uganda and the Congo.

See the second deepest lake in Africa! Surrounded by steep, cultivated mountains, the picturesque Lake Bunyonyi is 900 meters deep and dotted with 29 islands.
