Day 1: Unearth the wonders of Mulu National Park, venturing through the tropical rainforests, exploring hidden caves and seeking out the exquisite, thriving wildlife. In the afternoon, start with the caves – they are truly a spectacle. The Lang cave with dramatic spotlights highlighting the rocky outcrop and Deer cave, the world’s second largest cave entrance. You are perfectly placed to view a sea of bats whoosh over your head and towards sky. In the evening, return to the comfort of your resort.
Day 2: After breakfast, board a boat and take a tranquil ride through the winding rivers to visit the Penan ethnic group. Follow the river bends up to picturesque caves. At Wind Cave, admire the rocks curve into a throne room. Jump right into the water in Clearwater Cave – Asia’s longest! It will be difficult to miss the kaleidoscope of butterflies flapping along the river banks. Try and spot the rare Rajah Brooke species with its immense green wings. The rest of your time is spent at leisure until it’s time to return.
