Alwar nestles amid a cluster of small hills in the Aravalli range, on the road from Delhi to Jaipur. Also known as the “Tiger Gateway” to the historic and colorful state of Rajasthan, Alwar is a city carved out of the jagged, rocky Aravalli Hills where epic battles were fought. Marked by a number of structures of historical significance and with lakes and valleys thickly wooded in parts, Alwar has one of the finest sanctuaries in Rajasthan.
