The Fort was great fun. However, we feel extremely mislead on this hotel when we worked with Swati to select it AND based on the itinerary provided. There was no local dance show as the dancers were on holiday/not working on the day of our stay. There was no local dress/attire for us UNLESS we wanted to pay extra. In fact, everything was at an ADDITIONAL FEE and never once was that told to us. In fact, I still have the itinerary and it implies we would have had all these activities at the Fort but nothing unless we either paid more of nothing altogether (as the dancers) were not working. We also couldn't do the Fort Tour on the day we wanted as the person doing it (woman/daughter who owns/runs it) only wanted to do the tour in the morning (next day). So, after a 5 hour drive, we felt "stranded" at the Fort. WiFi was horrible - we had to go to the office area and even there it did not work. Electricity would go out intermittently and hot water for showers was sparse. The home cooked dinner was good but the vegetable dish seemed cheap (steamed cabbage) for the price we had to pay per person. I did not know December is wedding season in India (would have been great for the Travel Consultant to inform me of this)...as such, there was a wedding going on and literally music blasting all night and early morning that sleep was difficult. The Fort operations people also did not seem to know our profile as I thought Swati worked with them) - I say this as they tried to give us room that had 1 double bed...yes 1 bed for my father and I to share which was COMPLETELY INAPPROPRIATE and awkward. Further, my father is over 7 years old and the room suggested had many steps. It wasn't until I said something that the other room (with 2 separate beds and no steps) was offered. I really don't know what happened at this hotel as the experience was so off compared to the others. The Fort ideal is very cool though --- the Fort people need to better run the hotel though. ... A unique opportunity to stay at a historic fort managed in 16th generation. A great experience both within and outside the fort. The highlight (optional, i.e. for an additional fee): a village tour on an opulled carriage allowing an interesting insight into the life of the rural population. The room was very comfortable, nicely furnished. Everything was perfect except the food (both dinner and breakfast) which we found slightly disappointing compared to all the many other places we have visited before/after during our India trip. The reception of the owner and its staff was the "coldest" in all hotels we stayed during our entire Indian trip! ... Read More

Beautiful beautiful beautiful! Loved that it was quiet and peaceful. The manager/owner and staff were all very courteous and awesome. Beautiful sunset! The hand arrainged flowers within the courtyard and entrance in the bird baths on the ground were gorgeous!

This honestly a great place to stay and I would have enjoyed the experience more if there were more guest there. The time we were there, it was just us and another guest. The fort itself is located in the middle of nowhere and there really wasn’t much to do at the hotel. ... Read More
