Set amidst plains and rolling hills in a 220km2 private reserve just south of Otjiwarongo, Okonjima Plains Camp opened in late June 2014. Despite its increased size and change in design, Okonjima Plains Camp has retained a relaxed, informal and friendly atmosphere. It is an ideal base for those wanting to visit the Africat Foundation, and stay in tasteful accommodation with all the amenities and facilities that go with a good-quality lodge but without a very high price tag. It also offers great photographic opportunities for the big cats (plus some smaller creatures too!). Plains Camp offers 2 large, secluded swimming pools with sufficient shade-area, surrounded by a lush lawn. The pool closest to the Plains Camp over-looks the grass plains. Each room has a small verandah, wheel-chair friendly ramp, 2 double beds, a mini-fridge for own use, a coffee/tea station, 2 roof-fans, twin basins and a larger shower, a safe, a telephone to contact reception.

Okonjima Bush Suite is a short 10 minutes away from the Plains Camp and 500 mt from the Luxury Bush Camp. It overlooks a waterhole and is set intimately among the Acacia thorn-veld with the stunning sandstone Omboroko Mountains as a backdrop.
