Gangtey Lodge

Founded by the dynamic husband and wife duo, Brett and Omar Melzer, the Gangtey Goenpa is a luxurious lodge nestled in the Eastern Himalayas. With sweeping views over the valley, this special wood-and-stone lodge is inspired by Bhutanese rural architecture, artwork and monastic design. Designed by Mary Lou Thomson, the lodge interiors highlight facets of the vibrant local culture. This is a mystical sort of place – clouds actually seem to float through the lobby! It features rich local fabrics, plush sofas, dark wooden beams and incredible floor-to-ceiling windows in the lounge and dining area. 12 suites offer in-room wood-burning earthen fireplaces, underfloor heating, freestanding baths, wifi, and views over a valley stretching further than your binoculars!
