Jagat Niwas Palace is a refurbished 17th century building located on the banks of Udaipur’s sparkling Lake Pichola. You can witness traditional Mewar architecture during your stay in one of the 29 cozy rooms that come with jharokhas (traditional overhanging balconies) that overlook the central courtyard. Rejuvenate yourself with a massage at the Ayurveda Center. Special puppetry shows and traditional dance performances can also be arranged. Spend time savoring mouth-watering Indian, continental and Chinese cuisine at the rooftop restaurant with its wonderful lake views.

Our room here was spectacular overlooking the lake. we had drinks on top story was great. The only thing wrong was there was a terrible smell coming from the bathroom. Staff friendly.

Exciting Hotel in super location, but staff was not very friendly. Breakfast staff let me wait 1 min.for a cup of coffee. However dinner was very good and quick. Fantastic room ...thanks for a great experience

Couldn't have had a better location. Rooms felt a little bit damp but given the location right on the river this would be difficult to avoid. Service was very good. Shame we were there for such a short stay.

A wonderful, romantic place overlooking Lake Pichola. Beautifully decorated hotel setting with brilliantly chosen items. An atmosphere that reminded us kind of living in Arabian Nights (Thousand and One Nights). The food was outstanding and the service absolutely perfect.

We got a non lake view room, which was the worst experience in our trip. Very small and ugly room.

Position was amazing, one word of caution - if you have bad knees or hips the stairs to the top floor restaurant are very steep!

Slightly claustrophobic after the space of the other hotels. Staff (especially in the restaurant) a bit unfriendly. Our room looked directly on to lake which made up for other shortfalls.

Room not serviced during our stay-toiletries ran out. Waiter at breakfast was grumpy as was the desk clerk at check in. The hotel is in a great location and is very atmospheric. Management appears to trade on those aspects.

I wanted to love Jagat Niwas more than I did. It is delightful in overall appearance and design (loved the rooftop restaurant and the nooks in which to curl up and read or just admire the lake views). We had an extremely small room, however, and particularly with all we'd accumulated by the end of the trip, we felt a bit stuffed into the space. Staff was irratic in service, but I chalk that up to the fact that we were there during Holi, and I think many staff left for the day. I would go back again, so I guess the pluses outweighed the minuses. ... Read More

As a Heritage Hotel, the door ways were extremely low and banging ones head was a risk.

Staff was all very nice and accomodating as well as the restuarant. The room wasa bit small but given the confinements of the city itself it was well accomodating!
