Your chauffeur will drive you to your hotel in Borealis Basecamp in a shared vehicle.

Borealis Basecamp

Borealis Basecamp is situated on a quiet ridgeline at a latitude of 65° in Alaska, roughly 25 miles north of Fairbanks. It is surrounded by 100 acres of pristine boreal forest and provides a complete immersion in the Alaskan wilderness. The basecamp’s location is ideal for viewing the Northern Lights (Aurora Borealis) because there is minimal light pollution. It is also a good place from which to explore the surrounding landscape, either on foot, by dog sled, or snow machine.

Borealis Basecamp is situated on a quiet ridgeline in Alaska, surrounded by 100 acres of pristine boreal forest. It is roughly 25 miles north of Fairbanks. When you book a three night stay here, make sure to sign up for the dog sledding tour as well as the White Mountains snowmachining tour. Meet Dave Turner, your musher, and his team of dogs. Climb aboard your sled and enjoy a 30-minute ride along a section of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. Along the way your guide will tell you about life on the trail. The White Mountains snowmachine experience will take you into Alaska backcountry for four to six hours. Meet your guide in the morning. Learn the basics of riding a snowmachine and then head north along the Trans-Alaska Pipeline until you reach the start of the White Mountains recreation area. Stop here to have a snack and use the facilities before continuing on to Wickersham Dome, an incredible lookout point. Enjoy a hot lunch of sandwiches and soak in the stunning landscape before returning back to Basecamp. (Duration: 1 hr (dogsled) & 4-6 hrs (snowmachine); Seasonal: Nov 15 – Apr 10; Shared activity & transfers; Group size: 2 (dogsled) & 12 (snowmachine); All equipment is provided; Meals included (snowmachine): lunch; Please inform us of any food allergies in advance; Min age (snowmachine): 16 to drive & 8 to ride one; Please note that the tours are not recommended for those who are pregnant or elderly; Depending on the weather condition, the timing and date of this activity may change at a very short notice)

2 Nights

Fairbanks

Fairbanks is the second largest city in the state of Alaska with all the charms of small town life. It is a favored base camp with adventure-seekers and explorers en route to the Alaskan Interior or the Arctic region. An excellent year-round destination, there is plenty to keep you busy come summer or winter! Rafting and kayaking down the Chena River appeal to adventure lovers while golfing and fishing are for those who prefer a relaxed pace. Pioneer Park stands as testimony to the city’s historic past of gold mining, and art galleries are filled with exquisite displays of local handicrafts for you to browse. The onset of winter brings with it dog sledding, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing expeditions. Meanwhile, the hot springs are perfect for rejuvenating with a leisurely soak after every exciting adventure. Fairbanks makes for an especially unique destination during the Fall and Winter months, with the Northern Lights shining through the darkness!

One Day in Denali by van and return by train

Kick off your Alaskan adventure with a comfortable shuttle ride from your Fairbanks hotel directly to Denali National Park! Upon arrival, you’ll have a leisurely 4 hours to explore the park’s wonders at your own pace. Soak up the breathtaking scenery, hike along a scenic trail, or visit the Denali Visitor Center to learn more about this incredible park. In the afternoon, enjoy a scenic train ride back to Fairbanks aboard the Alaska Railroad, capping off a delightful day in Denali.
