Amsterdam

Amsterdam, the capital city of the Netherlands, sits along a network of UNESCO-listed historic canals in the province of North Holland. Also known as the ‘Venice of the North’, this picturesque city with its gabled facades and cultural heritage holds the promise of a memorable vacation. Numerous museums and important landmarks scattered across the city provide a substantial dose of history. Music buffs can look forward to attending performances by world-class virtuosos at one of many renowned concert halls. Sprawling fields filled with colorful tulips as well as other blooms and ancient windmills by the water beckon you to explore open spaces. Biking and canal cruises are ideal ways of enjoying a unique perspective of this city by the water. While there is plenty to keep you busy in this cosmopolitan hub, find time to explore Amsterdam’s culinary scene for a taste of authentic Dutch cuisine. The city’s vibrant nightlife scene is underscored by a large number of discotheques and excellent jazz clubs. Typical bruine kroegs or brown cafes offering artisanal beer see packed terraces during the summer months and are not to be missed!

Paris

Paris is a city of artists, writers and poets, of lovers, dreamers and romantics. Known as the City of Lights, it is home to the Louvre, the most celebrated museum in the world, which houses the Mona Lisa, the most celebrated painting in the world. The Musée d’Orsay, located on the west bank of the River Seine, contains the largest collection of Impressionist and post-Impressionist masterpieces to be found anywhere. Majestic buildings appear everywhere you walk. The Eiffel Tower rises over 1,000ft and is the enduring symbol of the city. The Arc de Triomphe stands proudly at the western end of the Champs-Élysées, one of the world’s most beautiful avenues. The Notre Dame Cathedral is a fine example of Gothic architecture, while the Palace of Versailles is a testament to the brilliance of French classical architecture. Then, there is the food. For centuries Paris has been a gastronomic paradise, serving dishes meticulously prepared to the highest standards. It is also an international fashion capital, boasting design houses such as Chanel and Dior, and luxury brands such as Louis Vuitton, Hermés, and Cartier.
