Walking and Biking Exploration of Central Bali
Get picked up from your hotel as you head out to Kintamani known for its splendid views of the active volcano Mount Batur. Hop on a comfortable bicycle at Abuan village and make your way downhill passing by the scenic Balinese countryside. Make frequent stops along the way to interact with villagers and admire beautiful temples. Afterward, drive out to the picturesque rice terraces of Tegalalang village and browse the wares on display at the local market. Travel back to Ubud to savor lunch at Arma Kafe, a unique art and cultural center. Take your pick of a crispy duck menu with local delicacies as sides or a three-course Indonesian meal. Afterward, begin your easy walking exploration of Ubud with a stroll to the fascinating eighth century Gunung Lebah Temple. It makes for an ideal location to catch a sunset with stunning views over the Indian Ocean. Admire the ancient Balinese architecture and traditional gateways of the temple. Walk to the adjacent cliff top to witness a traditional Kecak dance performance. Watch a hundred male performers form a circle chanting and swaying to hypnotic music, made more magical by the sun setting in the background. Learn about the story being performed – a portion of the Ramayana , in which the monkey God Hanuman fights king Ravana. Drive to Jimbaran Bay, a crescent-shaped stretch of white sand beach with calm waters, lined with seafood restaurants. Savor delicious freshly cooked seafood delights listening to the gentle waves on the shore.
