Vancouver is a city that offers something for everyone. It sits in the shadows of the North Shore mountains on the Pacific coast of British Columbia, and serves as a gateway to the great outdoors. While the city center allows easy access to hiking and biking trails, the ocean offers a plethora of water sports. Stanley Park, located right next to the downtown heart, contains 400-hectares of natural West Coast rainforest, and a number of beaches. The paved seawall lines the park’s perimeter and provides stunning sea views. Head to Capilano Suspension Bridge Park to experience the swinging planks of 450-foot Capilano Suspension Bridge and walk among the treetops of the rainforest. Vancouver is also an ethnically and linguistically diverse city with a wide range of culinary and cultural attractions. Explore colorful neighborhoods such as Commercial Drive, Gastown, and Chinatown, stopping to have a meal at one of the many restaurants. There’s plenty of shopping to be had too, with Granville Island in particular home to unique stores such as the Granville Island Broom Co.
