Bounce into the cultural delights of Bangkok. Experience the local transport, including a scenic ride on the elevated skytrain, and a public boat trip on the Chao Phraya River that takes you past precariously balanced local stiltments. Disembark at the flower market and you will be charmed by the exotic flora on display. Afterwards, a short tuk tuk ride will take you to the Grand Palace, which includes Wat Pho (Temple of the Reclining Buddha), and a leading massage school, where you can observe the Buddhist monks at prayer. Break for lunch at a local restaurant where delicious Thai delicacies are served up. Afterwards, it’s time for a leisurely longtail boat ride through Bangkok’s famous ‘klongs’, or waterways, past charming and quaint local stiltments. As the sun starts to dip in the distance, stop at Wat Arun which is famous for its distinctive architectural style and gorgeous views of the Chao Phraya River. Discover the UNESCO World Heritage city of Ayutthaya on this all-day tour packed with activities. Take a 1.5 hour long train ride from Bangkok to this cultural capital of Thailand, marveling at the lush green countryside and paddy fields passing you by. In Ayutthaya, visit the iconic 14th century temples on a Kermit tuk tuk. Learn more about this ancient capital as you visit Wat Yai Chaimongkol, Wat Phra Sri Sanphet and Wat Mahathat, where the Buddha’s face is said to have emerged naturally out of a tree. Walk down to the bustling and colorful Muslim Quarter to encounter local flavors and people, and try out the rare delicacy of a candy floss roti bread. Discover a verdant natural paradise on your Thailand trip! Prepare for an exciting day of kayaking and cycling at Sri Lanna National Park, just an hour away from Chiang Mai. Begin your adventure with a bicycle ride along beautiful rural roads. Pass through lush green landscapes, bamboo and fern groves, orchards, and rice paddies. After about 20 kilometers of cycling, disembark at Mae Ngat Lake Reservoir, where kayaks will be waiting for you. Enjoy some leisurely paddling before you break for a delicious Lanna lunch served at the floating bamboo raft house on the lake. In the afternoon, choose between exploring the lake on your kayak and swimming, or simply settle down on the secluded shore for a spot of sunbathing. In the evening, pack up and return to Chiang Mai. Walk down to the historic Tapae Gate and the Three Kings Monuments, before visiting Wat Chiang Man, which is the oldest temple in the region. Take a fortifying lunch break at a local restaurant, sampling local delicacies. Afterwards, drive up to Wat Phra That Doi Suthep, an iconic temple site in Northern Thailand. The climb up the famous Naga staircase offers spectacular photo opportunities of the city spread out below in all its glory. Try out deep fried pancakes, noodle soup bowls, rice noodles with curry (kanom jeen), Thai coconut pudding (kanom krok), and the heavenly sweet mango with sticky rice. After breakfast, set out from Phuket’s Dolphin Seaway Marina by speedboat for the emerald waters of Phang Nga Bay. Visit the scenic spot of Koh Tapu and Koh Phing Kan – famously known as James Bond Island, this is where the movie ‘The Man with the Golden Gun’ was filmed. Climb into canoes and explore Tapu Island’s hidden caves and lagoons, also gliding over mangrove swamps on the other side. You can also set out with torches to explore the large stalactite caves on the island. Around midday, head to Koh Panyee, an entire village built on stilts out on the sea, boasting a stunning backdrop of lush cliffside. Savor fresh seafood and local specialties for lunch while getting acquainted with the cheerful folks of this unique settlement.
