Day 1 – 8

International Arrival

Welcome to Male airport where you will be met by a representative with a paging board who will guide you to the resort’s airport counter. Once your check-in formalities are complete, the resort staff will escort you to your seaplane. Please note that seaplane departure times are only provided 24 hrs before your arrival. This is a shared transfer and depending on the number of your co-passengers on the plane, you may be required to wait at the airport lounge before you can board. Your seaplane may transfer you directly to your resort or stop at another resort to drop off some of your fellow passengers. Your resort staff will confirm the timing for your seaplane departure from the resort one day in advance. Please note that seaplanes only operate between 9 am and 3 pm, and are dependent on weather conditions.

The Maldives is an island nation made up of 26 atolls. It is located southwest of Sri Lanka and India and is the smallest country in Asia, with a land mass of only 115 sq miles. But what it lacks in land, it makes up for in water, covering 35,000 sq miles of sea. This makes it a tropical paradise filled with stunning white sand beaches that border crystal clear waters. An abundance of coral reefs ring the atolls, providing a home for a thousand species of fish. Male is the capital and most populated city and serves as the gateway to the rest of the country. Travel to your chosen resort island by seaplane or speedboat and let the beauty of these marine landscapes wash over you. Stay in overwater bungalows and discover the vast array of colorful tropical fish on snorkeling or diving excursions. The rich waters also attract larger sea life such as manta rays and whale sharks. Get to know Maldivian culture, which has been influenced by the various peoples who have settled here over the centuries. Enjoy fine cuisine and pamper yourself with spa treatments, both of which are hallmarks of the Maldives.

Maldives…a trip of a lifetime! This destination has been on my bucket list, so what better place to celebrate a milestone birthday! It was also a Mother/Daughter trip to spend quality time together in this hectic world we live in. Working with Walter in the planning stages and then with Neetu in the execution phase was enjoyable and stress-free. Amazing that with 21 to 24 hrs of actual flight time and 4 airplanes to get there…everything went seamlessly and no flight delays or lost luggage! That’s a miracle in of itself! But the best and most memorable things that Enchanting Travels and together with Cora Cora was to make my birthday a day and week I will forever cherish in my mind! We walked into our beautiful over the water bungalow and Cora Cora gave us an extra night because it was a special birthday
