1 Night

Casablanca

This port city standing by the Atlantic coastline is also Morocco’s largest and most populous. Set up by the French as a key commercial port in Morocco, Casablanca’s old French legacy is reflected in its handsome Mauresque buildings. Casablanca’s iconic architectural style, a fusion of traditional Moroccan and French-colonial design, is best seen in its downtown area. The bustling Central Market and the old Mahakma building, which was an old Muslim law court as well as the Pasha of Casablanca’s reception hall, are definitely worth a visit for a true flavor of the city. For a taste of Casablanca’s sophisticated nightlife, a stroll down the Quartier Habous and the beachside suburb of Ain Diab are always on a traveler’s list. Who knows, a visit to this legendary port city could become ‘the beginning of a beautiful friendship’!

Half Day : Casablanca City Tour

Discover the many attractions of this famous city set by the Atlantic Ocean, in this private tour. Set off from your hotel at a convenient time and head to the city’s Central Market. Your chauffeur will drive you from Casablanca to Rabat in a private vehicle (Duration: 1-2 hrs)

1 Night

Rabat

Rabat, the charming capital of Morocco, was granted its UNESCO Heritage site status in 2012. Standing at the confluence of the Bouregreg River and the Atlantic, this pleasant coastal metropolis is an elegant fusion of medieval Islamic heritage and a French colonial legacy. The old city’s Berber fort (incidentally, ‘Rabat’ comes from the Arabic term for ‘fortified place’), encircled by colonial era landscaped French gardens, is perhaps the perfect representation of this graceful cultural blend. The city’s other iconic landmark is the 12th century Hassan Tower. Caliph Yaqub al Mansour, who had built much of Rabat in the 12 century, had started to build what was then the world’s largest mosque. It remained unfinished upon his death, and the unfinished minaret or the Hassan Tower still bears testimony to his ambitions. The Caliph had also restored the kasbah and created a royal necropolis at the old Roman ruins of Sala Colonia, which has since been converted into an archaeological museum. The modern city is to be found as much in Rabat’s uncluttered beach and tree-lined boulevards, as in its walled medina.

Included activities

Rabat’s City Delights

Recently granted UNESCO World Heritage status, the city of Rabat is yours to discover! Named after the Arabic word ‘ribaat’ meaning ‘fortified place’, the capital of Morocco has a long and rich history behind it. Begin your tour at the medina, where you will find the Hassan tower, an unfinished minaret from the time of Yaqub al Mansur, who wished to build the largest mosque in Rabat. An important figure in the construction of Rabat, the city walls and restored Kasbah of the Udayas on your itinerary, stand testimony to Mansur’s efforts. Next, explore the Chellah, also the ruined Roman city of Sala, which boasts ancient monuments and buildings. Also a fortified Muslim necropolis where the Merenid dynasty are buried, the Chellah is one of the best archaeological sites of modern day Morocco. (Half Day; Time of Day: Morning and Afternoon; Duration: 2-3 hrs; Private Activity & Transfer; Fitness Level: Easy)

Your chauffeur will drive you from Rabat to Fes in a private vehicle (Duration: 2-3 hrs)

2 Nights

Fes

Fes, or Fez, the grandest royal city created by Morocco’s early Muslim rulers in the 9th century, is the country’s cultural capital and spiritual heart. This UNESCO World Heritage site houses the world’s oldest university! Fez had replaced Marrakech as the capital of the Merinid kingdom during the height of its political influence in the 13th–14th centuries. Medieval mosques, private villas and madrassas like the 14th-century Bou Inania and Al Attarine, designed with elaborate timber and tile work, still adorn the town. Imagine narrow alleyways lined with colorful stalls, donkey carts laden with goods competing with local crowds, and the tantalizing aroma of sizzling kebabs and freshly baked breads rising from the souks. Walking down blind alleys bustling with people, expect to suddenly come up against an oasis of calm, a delicate stone fountain, or an intricately carved doorway to some medieval palace or fondouk….

Included activities

Cultural Delights of Meknes

Leave the hectic popularity of Fez behind for the quieter but equally precious cultural attractions of Meknes. Explore the historical grandeur of the former capital city of Morocco in the arches and columns of Bab El Mansour, the monumental gate adorned with wood carvings and detailed zellige tile work. Marvel at the splendor of the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, the founding Sultan of this imperial city and admire the nearby Heri es-Souani which used to house the royal granary and stables. Explore the remains of fortifications which stand testimony to the city’s former glory and meticulous planning. Enjoy the local vibe with a stroll through the Place Hedim where historic buildings and narrow alleys exude as much atmosphere as its bustling shops and eateries. (Half Day; Private Activity & Transfer; Time: Morning/Evening; Duration: 4-5 hrs; Fitness level: Easy)

Yoga at Palais Amani

Begin the new day with an energizing Yoga session while overlooking the timeless Medina of Fes from the rooftop terrace of the Palais Amani hotel. After the class, head down to the gardens where a special detox breakfast will complete this extraordinary experience. (Shared Yoga class, no transfers included, duration of the Yoga class: 1.15 hrs, detox breakfast included, class starts at 8am, mats, blocks and straps are provided)

Fes Fantastic Heritage Tour

Traverse through 1,300 years of Moroccan heritage as your guide leads you across the most beautiful medina in Morocco. In the beautiful city of Fes, gaze in awe at the exquisite examples of Islamic art and architecture. Walk through the narrow streets flanked on either side by bustling souks occupied by tailors, artists, and traders selling a variety of wares. Saunter past cafes that lead to outdoor markets, the covered bazaar, and quiet squares where you can spot children at play and donkeys at work transporting supplies. The world’s largest car-free urban space and a prominent UNESCO World Heritage site, the medina is where you will find a large number of spectacular mosques, tanneries, and fountains. Accompany your guide into some of the mosques that permit non-Muslims to enter, so you can get a closer look at the intricate stucco and tile work inside. Explore the new medina, the medersa or Islamic educational institute, and the iconic Bab Boujloud or Blue Gate, which is a great place to indulge in people watching! Stop by the picturesque fountain at Place Nejjarine before you make your way to the mellah (Jewish quarter) for a glimpse into the city’s Jewish heritage. Browse through some of the souks of Fes before you decide to call it a day. (Full Day; Time of Day: Morning; Duration: 6 hrs; Private Activity & Transfer; Fitness Level: Moderate; Please note that non-Muslims are not allowed insides many of the mosques.)

Marrakesh

Marrakesh, with its aura of mystery and exoticism, begs to be explored! Set out on a journey of discovery across this ancient city that has been prominent in shaping the history and culture of Morocco. The city was founded in AD 1062 by a chieftain of the Almoravid king Youssuf Ibn Tashfin. Prepare to be dazzled by the ingenuity of ancient Andalusian craftsmen who used a blend of Saharan and African traditions to give the city its unique architectural character. The Almoravids are also credited with designing the complex system of khettara (network of underground irrigation canals) to bring water to the city from the High Atlas mountains. Many of Marrakesh’s palaces and mosques were demolished in the 12th century by those in power and new structures rose in their place, such as the Koutoubia mosque. Since then, the city has been on a roller coaster of glory and decline which has shaped its current form.
