Venice

A group of around 100 tiny islands, lapped by the waters of the Adriatic Sea, replete with magnificent art and architecture, the dreamy sight of gondolas slowly making their way through the canals, amid the signature ‘oieee’ calls – little surprise why Venice automatically features among the most romantic and beautiful cities in the world! Literally every brick of this city is steeped in history, given its strict laws on historical preservation. From stunning palaces flanking the Grand Canal exhibiting a medley of architectural styles to the paintings of Renaissance masters that dot the walls of the city’s many churches and the Teatro la Fenice’s ornate setting with its gilded boxes, witness to many powerful operas, Venice is all about the celebration of rich cultural treasures. It’s hard not to travel back in time as you walk through its hidden paths and shortcuts – and it’s equally difficult not to get lost in the labyrinth of passages, a beautiful adventure in itself and literally a rite of passage for any traveler in the city! Equally unmissable is sipping a coffee at the many cafes that dot these lanes, or savoring the freshest of seafood – making every trip to Venice a feast for all the senses!

Your chauffeur will drive you from Alta Badia to Verona in a private vehicle (Duration: 3 hrs)

1 Night

Verona

As the setting of Shakespeare’s immortal play Romeo and Juliet, travelers are drawn to this northern Italian town from all over the world. The lovely riverside town even showcases an old 14th century house with a courtyard sheltered by a pretty little balcony as “Juliet’s House”! Even without the poet’s masterful creation, however, Verona is an attractive medieval town with elegant old churches, old fashioned cobbled streets, and beautiful piazzas lined with shops and eateries. The Adige River flowing through Verona adds to its charm, especially when the old stone bridges over the river and the waterside promenade alongside are all prettily lit up in the evenings. Come summer and Verona’s ancient Roman amphitheater stages the annual opera festival, besides hosting concerts and plays all year round. Feasting on risottos, cheese, tiramisu and pandoro from the Veneto region, chased by its world famous local wines is a treat for food lovers.

Bellagio

Bellagio is a lovely little romantic waterfront town by the famous Lake Como and its azure blue waters, surrounded by wooded hills and graceful old villas. Whether the Italian master, Alessandro Manzoni’s 19th-century masterpiece, I Promessi Sposi, the 1970s classic Al Pacino-starrer, Bobby Deerfield, the more recent Ocean’s Twelve or the Serbian author Srđjan Valjarević’s novel, Lake Como (set in Bellagio), the region has inspired countless artists down the ages. Soak in its charm as you laze by the lakeside or walk on Loppia Beach. Wander along the winding cobbled streets, climbing up and down old stone stairs and immerse yourself in the old-world ambiance of villas with dark groves and gardens. The Villa Serbelloni Park, an old terraced garden with a view of the lake, is worth a visit, as is the San Giacomo Church, the old town center and the Museum of Navigational Instruments with its bounty of ancient compasses and sundials.
