You could spend all day meandering through the region, stopping at strategic spots – the area’s five or six best wineries – where you can sample fine Marlborough wine. On the list are stellar whites such as Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir! For a bit between tastings, the platter lunch at Geisen winery is recommended, at your own expense. Restrictions to South and North Island roads apply. Rental cars are not permitted to drive on dangerous roads, e.g. Skippers Rd./ Ninety Mile Beach/ general unformed roads.
Rental cars cannot be taken from one island across to the other on Cook Strait Ferry Services. Failure to comply will result in a relocation fee of minimum 747.50 NZD.
