Kawthaung is Myanmar´s southernmost city where you can cross the border to/ from Ranong in Thailand. A boat shuttle service connects both cities and takes about 30 minutes. While Kawthaung itself has not much to offer, its picturesque location and proximity to the Mergui archipelago make for a pleasant stopover.
