Whistler is a popular resort town nestled in the Coastal Mountains of British Columbia, just a couple of hours north of Vancouver. One of the world’s most popular ski destinations, this quaint little alpine town has the largest skiing area on the continent with the two main mountains called Whistler and Blackcomb. While skiing and snowboarding are undoubtedly the top activities in the winter months, the town is also a popular hub for several more activities such as dog sledding, snow sledding, ice climbing and even backcountry heli-skiing. Despite its reputation as a winter getaway, Whistler has plenty to offer in the summer months such as hiking and mountain biking along the numerous trails, even a round of golf in one of the most beautiful settings. Just outside of Whistler village, you can spot the famous bald eagles of the region in the fall months, or even take time out to go salmon fishing at one of the many lakes. A visit to Whistler cannot go without a ride on the Peak to Peak Gondola connecting Whistler Mountain with Blackcomb Mountain – a great way to capture spectacular 360 degree views of the region as well experiencing an incredible engineering feat breaking many world records.
