It is located right at the entrance of Bwindi In penetrable National Park which is believed to be home to about half the world’s population of the endangered Mountain Gorillas.
Buhoma Lodge is at the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and a five minute walk from the gorilla trekking starting point. Its location ensures great views of the forest canopy and a good location for gorilla trekking. The lodge features 8 comfortable cottages that are decorated with an African touch and have their own private verandas with view on the forest. The elevated lounge area also features a bar and dining room that has a fireplace to keep you warm on colder nights. Besides gorilla trekking you can go enjoy a forest walk, go birding or explore a cultural experience with the Batwa, a cultural group that used to live in the forest.
