Buhoma Lodge is at the edge of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and a five minute walk from the gorilla trekking starting point.
It is located right at the entrance of Bwindi In penetrable National Park which is believed to be home to about half the world’s population of the endangered Mountain Gorillas. Buhoma community camp was set up in 1993 to enable the community to benefit from gorilla tourism in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. The Community camp is run by community members and all profits are shared with the local community through assistance in funding local schools and clinics. It ha six well built bandas with an African Architectural Design constructed using local Materials. It is open and well maintained Camping grounds right at the Edge of the Bwindi Forests. It has mini bar & restaurant and a local Arts And Crafts Center. These crafts are made from local materials and range from wood sculptures to woven bags and baskets.
