Damaraland Camp is located in the Huab River Valley, possibly the most pristine wilderness area in Namibia.
Camp Kipwe, in situated within the Twyfelfontein Conservancy in the Damaraland area, only 4kms from it’s sister lodge of Mowani Mountain Camp. Designed to creatively embrace the granite boulders, the camp embodies its Swahili meaning as it ‘blesses’ the mind, body and soul of every traveler that makes the journey. Taking advantage of the nearby Aba Huab River and all consuming expansive landscape, Kipwe offers a refreshing perspective on traditional safari life Accommodation is in 8 igloo-shaped double bungalows, allowing a maximum of 16 guests at a time, emphasizing the peace and quiet of the camp. Outside each bungalow is an en-suite bathroom with a shower, as well as a private veranda, overlooking the surrounding plains. They all have an in-room safe. Guests can relax and unwind in the lounge, a meeting place to discuss travel and safari experiences with other guests. The mountain views from here are breathtaking as are the stunning sunsets. A small swimming pool built into the rocks and a viewpoint with 360 degrees of breathtaking beauty, are two attractive outdoor features. Activities at the camp include nature drives with the possibility of seeing the desert-adapted elephants in the dry season, Twyfelfontein excursions to the rock engravings and guided walks in front of the camp with Kipwe’s experienced guides.
