What Makes It Special
A protected 1903 landmark that once housed the Royal Danish Academy of Music, Nobis Hotel Copenhagen brings together historic architecture and contemporary Scandinavian design. The building’s original character has been reinterpreted through a restrained palette of natural stone, wood and custom furnishings, creating a distinctly modern expression of Danish luxury.
Details
Nobis Hotel occupies a prime position in central Copenhagen, beside Tivoli Gardens and within walking distance of Copenhagen Central Station, City Hall Square and the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek. The hotel itself is housed in a 5,500-square-meter heritage building, one of the Danish capital’s early concrete structures, with high ceilings and original marble staircase.
The accommodations continue this dialogue between old and new. Scandinavian craftsmanship and contemporary detailing sit comfortably alongside the building’s historic architecture, with high-quality materials and carefully considered furnishings creating an elegant atmosphere. The design is unmistakably modern, but never disconnected from the building’s past.
Wellness is deliberately understated here. The relaxation area features a sauna, a unique cold bath and a heated marble hammam stone.
Food and drink are equally central to the experience. NOI serves European-inspired cuisine centered on local ingredients, while The Marble Bar pairs Italian marble and Nordic design with seasonal, Scandinavian-influenced cocktails. During warmer months, the courtyard provides a quieter outdoor setting for drinks and dining.
The hotel also holds the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, reflecting its broader environmental program. Taken together, the architecture, design, dining and wellness spaces create a sophisticated urban retreat that feels distinctly Copenhagen rather than simply contemporary.
