See scenic mountain views in southern Africa! The magnificent Drakensberg mountains tower over Lesotho and much of KwaZulu Natal in South Africa. In Afrikaans, Drakensberg means ‘dragon mountain’, although the local Zulu people call it ‘uKhahlamba’, meaning ‘barrier of spears’. The uKhahlamba-Drakensberg Park in the region is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a wealth of San rock art; you will find over 3,000 individual paintings here, spread over 600 sites! The stunningly scenic region offers you plenty of outdoor activities including hiking or horse riding, and central Drakensberg is equipped with the largest national park of the area – Giant’s Castle Game Reserve.
Montusi is situated on a 1000 hectare estate, in the Kwazulu-Natal Drakensberg, with an uninterrupted view of the Drakensberg's most famous part, the Amphitheatre escarpment.
