Embrace the remoteness! North Luangwa is a wonderful option for outdoorsy guests who really appreciate the genuine sense of intimacy of the bush experience. North Luangwa has rich game and birdlife and with virtually no roads, North Luangwa is one of the best places for walking safaris. It receives less than 5% of the visitor traffic experienced in the nearby South Luangwa but boasts a very similar landscape. The small Mwaleshi River runs through the park, with clear shallow waters and low banks, perfect for walking along. Game gravitates towards the river, particularly in the dry season, when it’s common to see buffalo, lion and hyena in healthy numbers by the water.
