The months between July and October mark the dry season that is ideal for spotting mammals. Visit between November and June for birdwatching.

2 Nights

Victoria Falls

Smoke that thunders! That is what the Kolobo tribe who lived by the Victoria Falls two centuries ago once called this seventh wonder of the world. The spray can be seen from miles away. The wide basalt cliff, over which the falls thunder, transforms the Zambezi from a wide placid river into a ferocious torrent cutting through a series of dramatic gorges. A path along the edge of the surrounding rainforest provides you with unparalleled views from various special vantage points. Enjoy diverse activities, from helicopter rides to gentle boat cruises on the Zambezi.

Included activities

Waterberry Lodge: Tour of Victoria Falls, Boat Cruises, Island Picnics, Village Visit

Brace yourself for a tour of the magnificent Victoria Falls and witness nature pour its heart out, quite literally. The sheer force of the falls is overpowering and if you’re travelling in season, then massive sprays and rainbows are common. During the drier months, you can look into the crevices of the deep canyon. Take a boat cruise on the River Zambezi and watch aquatic and bird life from close quarters. Round this off with an island picnic at one of the many islands dotting the region. Get a taste of the real Zambia; go on a village visit and get acquainted with the lifestyle and customs of the locals.

Explore Victoria Falls on your own

Discover the awe-inspiring beauty of Victoria Falls and its unique ecosystem on your own. Set off from your hotel for the Victoria Falls Rainforest and as you get closer to the Falls, see how the landscape changes! Arrive at the stunning spectacle of the largest sheet of falling water in the world. The Victoria Falls thunders from a height of more than one hundred meters over a width of nearly two kilometers – all the while pouring more than five hundred million cubic meters of water per minute down the gorge on Zambezi River. If you are lucky, you may be able to view the Falls enveloped in misty rainbows created by the effect of sunlight on the perpetual spray of water. After taking photos from the most dramatic vantage points, stroll around the site and enjoy its pristine beauty until it is time to head back to your hotel.
